We’ve finally reached the day and age where we can all agree it’s important to take care of our mental health. And as we learn more, it’s become apparent that mental health is about more than just our minds – it encompasses our spirit, mind, and body. Noemi Mendez-Hyams, LPC-S has opened Spirit-Mind-Body Connections Counseling, PLLC in historic downtown Wylie to offer different therapy services to the residents of Wylie and surrounding communities.

Noemi is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or issues related to trauma experiences and PTSD, relationship issues, and grief or life transitions. Along with traditional counseling methods, Noemi also offers a therapy service called EMDR.

“I am a certified EMDR therapist which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing,” says Noemi. “EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach that helps lessen the emotional charge of distressing events.” EMDR is a non-drug, non-hypnosis, non-evasive, and evidence-based psychotherapy procedure.

Doing Business in Wylie

When asked what Noemi loves best about doing business in Wylie, she says, “I love doing business in downtown Wylie because of the community as a whole, the other small businesses, and the small-town feel with all the perks of city life. Wylie is also where I live and I love that I can offer therapy services to others so they don’t have to travel far or deal with traffic to get help.”

In the future, Noemi plans to develop a Somatic Healing Group Therapy option that would incorporate mindfulness activities, breath work, and trauma releasing exercises.
