A hamburger is a personal thing. Some like them thin and well-done with crispy edges, while others prefer them thick and juicy. Some like them stacked sky-high with cheese and sauces, while others take it dry. We’re not here to judge how you like your burger, but we are here to tell you about some Wylie burger joints you don’t want to miss. Here are five of Wylie’s best burgers, but don’t take it from us—give all these places a try, and you be the judge.

Mijas Taqueria
Your friend wants tacos, and you want a burger? No problem. Take yourself to Mijas Taqueria, located right on 78 and loved by locals for its robust menu of Mexican favorites. Not sure what to try? Go for the Choriburger, a chorizo burger loaded with cheese, grilled onions, and peppers.

La Joya
While we’re on the topic of Mexican restaurants that offer burgers, next time you’re in historic downtown Wylie, swing by La Joya for some salty tortilla chips, tasty salsa, and a much-loved burger. Locals claim the burger bests the tacos, but there’s only one way to find out, and that is by trying it yourself. If you can’t make it to dinner, though, swing by in the morning for a breakfast burrito (they don’t disappoint!).
Mooyah
Those of you who live in west Wylie are blessed to have Mooyah nearby. This restaurant specializes in custom burger orders and hand-cut fries (and that goes for sweet potato fries, too). Mooyah’s burgers come in a variety of sizes and options, with a “choose your own adventure” topping menu that you can customize to your tastes (extra pickles and sauce, please).

Ferah Smokehouse & Cantina
The owners of Ferah Smokehouse & Cantina know what the people want (fresh, chef-inspired, seasonal food), but they also know what the people love—and that’s a good burger. Sip on a fancy cocktail from the restaurant’s well-stocked bar while enjoying a classic, flame-grilled burger (oh, and did we mention all guests start off their dining experience with some tasty cornbread?).
Creekside Fine Grill
Creekside Fine Grill has become a Wylie staple, and its wide variety of offerings, upscale environment, and fantastic happy hour specials please a wide variety of palates. It’s also a burger-lover’s haven, offering a half-pound bacon cheesburger topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickle chips, and BBQ ranch (yep, BBQ Ranch, yum). If you need a starter (and who doesn’t!), go with the Triple Dip.
