Looking for something new to do around town? You might be surprised to know that Wylie has some popular spots for live music. If you’re looking for where to listen to live music in Wylie, Texas, here are four great spots that you should try.

Up-and-Coming Country Artists and Country Gospel at the Wylie Opry
Located in historic downtown Wylie, the Wylie Opry has been hosting local live musicians for decades, and more than one popular country artist cut their teeth on the stage of the Wylie Opry (maybe most notable, LeAnn Rimes!). Saturday night is Country Night, and you can check out the lineup of artists in advance. The show starts every Saturday evening at 8pm. Tickets are reasonably priced. The Opry can hold up to 250 people but occasionally sells out. You can make reservations to ensure you have a spot!
If you’d prefer Gospel, swing by for a free show every Friday night starting at 7:30pm. Just like the Saturday shows, you can see the performers in advance by looking at the Opry’s schedule of gospel guests.
Head to Wylie a couple hours before the show starts to grab some dinner downtown. Villa Vinci, Bold BBQ Pit, La Joya, and Frankie’s are all within a short walk from the Opry.
Enjoy Live Acts and Open Mic Night at Bold BBQ Pit
Also located in downtown Wylie, Bold BBQ Pit has been serving up tasty barbecue for several years now (try the brisket egg rolls…you won’t be disappointed!). They also provide the entertainment while you eat. You can find Bold’s live music schedule on their Facebook page. They feature local artists and occasionally offer an Open Mic Night if you’d like to see some undiscovered talent or even give yourself some experience behind the mic.
Herman Marshall Pairs Local Bands and Local Whiskey for a Good Time
Looking to keep it local? The Herman Marshall Tasting Room combines its award-winning whiskey (or vodka, if whiskey isn’t your thing) with popular local acts for a fun evening with playlists you’ll love. Order in your favorite local food (Frankie’s, Bold, and Villa Vinci will deliver) or come on a night when there’s a food truck parked out back to make it an evening of dinner, adult bevvies, and live music.
Local bands Salty Dogs and Midnight Traveler are regular performers at this venue, which has an upstairs room that is often dedicated to live performances to accommodate the audience comfortably. You’ll enjoy ’90s classics, country favorites, and some original music while you sip on your Old Fashioned.
Get Outside and Meet Your Neighbors at Wylie Urban Market
Wylie’s community gathering place, Wylie Urban Market is located on Stone Road in East Wylie (just a stone’s throw from Wylie East High School, really). The market is filled with goods from local artisans, including fresh meat and produce. On the same property is the Texas Longhouse Meadery, which ferments mead right here in Wylie. The Wylie Urban Market also hosts the occasional outdoor event with live music, food trucks, and of course, mead! You can keep up with their events on the Event Calendar.
