It’s almost time for Taste of Wylie! This popular event is a great chance to sample what local restaurants have to offer while supporting a good cause. Today we’re answering frequently asked questions about this foodie-friendly event that takes place every year at Olde City Park in historic downtown Wylie, Texas.

What is Taste of Wylie?
Taste of Wylie started around 20 years ago. Many restaurants were closed on Mondays, and used this “day off” to create an event that would benefit local food pantries. Two decades letter, restaurants from all over Wylie and surrounding areas are still coming together with the same intent…to bring you samples of their most popular food and raise money for food pantries in our community.
This event is a great way to sample lots of food, from lots of restaurants and food trucks (including some new restaurants that haven’t opened yet!), all in one place and for one low price.
When is Taste of Wylie 2026?
This event takes place on Monday, May 4th, 2026, at Olde City Park. The event runs from 11am-1pm.

- $20 Adults
- $15 Seniors 60+
- $15 Children 6-12
- Children 5 and under are FREE
Is Taste of Wylie kid-friendly?
Yes! This event is family-friendly. Bring the kids! You can feed them at the event, and then let them play in the newly renovated park.

Why is Taste of Wylie on a Monday?
This is the most popular of all questions! Everyone wants to know, why is it on a Monday?
According to the City of Wylie, “Many restaurants would not be able to participate if the event was moved to a busier weeknight or weekend. Last year’s Taste of Wylie was attended by more than 900 people, and $24,000 (100% of ticket sales and sponsorships) was donated to local food pantries.”
Today, many restaurants are still closed on Mondays. The event continues to be on a Monday to accommodate restaurants who may have a hard time finding the staff and resources for a weekend event.

Who does this event benefit?
100% of ticket sales and sponsorships benefit local food pantries food pantries, including Wylie Community Christian Care Center, Amazing Grace, Five Loaves, and Hope for the Cities.
Are the lines long?
Last year, the event format changed…which means less time in line and more time enjoying all the amazing food you’re going to eat! So if you haven’t been in a couple of years, you’ll definitely want to check it out.
