You can also find out what is going on each week by following the Discover Wylie Facebook Page (look for a weekly roundup of local activities every Monday).

The Wylie Grinch is back and town and worse than ever! You can follow his antics as he visits the Wylie Police Department, the Wylie Fire Department, Wylie ISD, and more than 25 local businesses on his Facebook page and the Discover Wylie Instagram page.
December 1st is the Christmas Painting with Ponies at Texas Therapeutic Riding Center. This fun event starts at 7 PM. Attendees will get to paint a beautiful winter barn scene while surrounded by the TxTRC therapy horses! Treats (for the people!) are being provided by The Blend on Ballard.
Be sure to check out the Wylie Arts Festival on December 2nd! This all-day event is a great way to get your Christmas shopping done all in one place.
Be sure to stop by Juzt Jaz Boutique on December 2nd from 12 PM – 4 PM for free pictures with Mickey and Minnie.
After you’ve done your shopping and taken your pictures with Mickey, swing by Wylie Flower & Gift for their annual Open House event.
There’s a lot going on at Smith Public Library in December. You’ll need to check out their calendar of events for the whole list, but a few highlights are Family Story Time, 3D Printing Demonstrations, and book clubs for kids, tweens, teens, and adults!
Everybody loves a parade, and the Wylie Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting is happening on December 3rd at 6 PM.
On December 8th, the CPKC Holiday Express is coming back to Wylie. You can read all about it here. The train is open at 4 PM and includes a visit with Santa. The holiday train is free.
Shop small and knock out that Christmas shopping on December 14th as downtown boutiques present a fun shopping event. Dashing Through Downtown starts at 5 PM and includes drinks and snacks at each stop.
You’ll have another chance to get some Christmas shopping done on December 16th at the Welcome Center at Brown House when they host a Victorian Christmas Market. The Market runs from 10 AM – 2 PM. Stroll the Victorian Christmas Market, shop holiday vendors, enjoy Christmas foods, Victorian carolers, crafts and more. Don’t forget to visit the Victorian Santa in his workshop for photo opportunities.
Check out live music all month long at local restaurants in Downtown Wylie! The following locations have music most Friday and Saturday nights (you’ll want to check their social media or websites for updates and schedules):
- Herman Marshall Whiskey Tasting Room
- Bold BBQ Pit
- Wylie Opry
The Wylie LOVE Scavenger Hunt is going on all month. This is a great activity for a fun date. Enjoy your city scavenger hunt with fun digital activities along the way! The event kicks off at Smith Public Library. Find all the details here.
Every Wednesday is Wine Down Wednesday at Landon Winery in historic Downtown Wylie.
Don’t forget to get outside and take advantage of local walking trails. The Trinity Trail North is a 5-mile hike by Lake Lavon. It gets really muddy after it rains, though, so you might wait until we’ve had a few dry days in a row before tackling this trail! Also, go early in the morning to avoid the heat.
Enjoy December, Wylie!
