January is here and with that, the new year! There are many fun things happening in Wylie this month. Here’s a collection of January events in Wylie, Texas. The Prairie Tails Dog Park opens on January 11th! The park is located at located in the Wylie Municipal Complex at 300 Country Club Rd. (near the library). It will be open during regular park hours, 6 am to midnight, with flood lighting on during those times.
Join local author Carrie Lindsey for a Vision Board Workshop at Herman Marshall Whiskey on January 20th from 1 PM – 3 PM. Learn about the power of vision boards and then make one while enjoying a Bloody Mary bar at this fun event! The last one sold out. Get your tickets here.
Like wine? Get tickets to Wine Education: Basics w/Bob 3.0 @ Landon Winery Wylie on January 23rd at 7 PM. These events are so fun! Learn about wine and hang with Bob Landon in downtown Wylie.
The Wylie Historical Society is putting on a Vintage Fashion Show on January 27th. Enjoy a raffle, a costume contest, and fun photo ops (you can even dress up for the costume contest!). Get your tickets here.

There’s a lot going on at Smith Public Library in January. You’ll need to check out their calendar of events for the whole list, but a few highlights are Family Story Time, 3D Printing Demonstrations, and book clubs for kids, tweens, teens, and adults!
Check out live music all month long at local venues in Downtown Wylie! The following locations have music most Friday and Saturday nights (you’ll want to check their social media or websites for updates and schedules):

The Wylie LOVE Scavenger Hunt is going on all month. This is a great activity for a fun date. Enjoy your city scavenger hunt with fun digital activities along the way! The event kicks off at Smith Public Library. Find all the details here.
Every Wednesday is Wine Down Wednesday at Landon Winery in historic Downtown Wylie.
Don’t forget to get outside and take advantage of local walking trails. The Trinity Trail North is a 5-mile hike by Lake Lavon. It gets really muddy after it rains, though, so you might wait until we’ve had a few dry days in a row before tackling this trail! Also, go early in the morning to avoid the heat.
